Functional alternative pages for the
Kennel Club magazine
What?
The Koiramme magazine of the Finnish Kennel Club has one of the widest circulations in the country and is published 10 times a year. The magazine is sent to all Kennel Club members but may also be ordered by non-members or bought at the cover price. The magazine is estimated to have 350,000 readers.
Why?
The magazine wishes to serve the owners of hunting dogs with a specialised hunting version, the Metsästys-Koiramme, with articles written by experts for hunters and owners of hunting dogs.
How?
The Metsästys-Koiramme version of the magazine is made by changing some of the pages of the standard Koiramme magazine. Most of the subscribers receive the Koiramme magazine containing articles for all dog people. The hunting version, Metsästys-Koiramme, is sent to 12,000 subscribers. 8,000 subscribers wish to receive both versions for a moderate extra charge. The investment in alternative pages has only brought positive results.
The cooperation between Hansaprint and the Kennel Club magazine has continued since the 1970s. The magazine's small number of reporters staff are able to concentrate on content production as Hansaprint actively participates in the development of the magazine and takes care of the graphical design, among other things.
